Go-kart
At the age of 15 I began designing and prototyping my first go-kart. I borrowed my uncle's welder and welded angle iron together to make the flatbed frame. The next step of course was to chop my BMX bike in half, and weld that to the frame... I figured who needs a bike when you can have a go-kart right? Once my parents realized what I was doing in the garage after school, they started helping fund the project. I went online and started ordering the parts I needed (after doing many hours of research in the form of online forums and YouTube videos) and made a few trips to my local princess auto, where I purchased the axle, wheels and the 6.5 hp 196cc Honda clone engine. I used a chain driven centrifugal clutch as my transmission. The go-kart actually worked and I was able to reach a top speed of 50 km/h.
